Vision
A community where creativity is tended as a vital source of life.
SunRoot views creativity as vitality—fueling how we care, connect, and grow. We imagine a culture where creative nurturers feel resourced and alive in their expression, where tending to one’s creative well is part of how we show up for others.
By reconnecting to creative practice through artistry, embodiment, and community, SunRoot invites a return to balance and belonging—where creativity and care move in rhythm, sustaining both art and purpose.
Mission
We create spaces for creative nurturers to return to their creative well.
SunRoot helps individuals reclaim their creative center throughout life’s changing seasons.
Our spaces offer grounded practice, embodied reflection, and collective support—guiding participants to slow down, refill their creative well, and let self-expression lead the way toward renewed balance and authenticity.
We believe creativity isn’t just what we make; it’s how we live—grounded, sustainable, and inspired.

Co-Founder
Heather E. Wong (she/they) is a sixth-generation Texan and an Austin-based writer, entrepreneur, and yoga and somatic practitioner who creates spaces where creativity and care move in rhythm. A longtime public educator and yoga teacher trained in prenatal, postpartum, and trauma-conscious modalities, she brings a grounding presence anchored in embodiment and community.
After becoming a parent, Heather experienced a shift that reconnected her to her creative roots and the rhythms of care that shape both art and life. That transformation sparked a new vision for supporting others who create deeply and care deeply.
In co-founding SunRoot with musician and community builder Kate Priestley, Heather helps design gatherings that honor both creative expression and the lived realities of caregiving. Her work in SunRoot focuses on guiding reflection, facilitating embodied experiences, and weaving community practices that help participants return to presence and creative aliveness.
Outside of SunRoot, Heather maintains a private practice where she offers presence-based coaching to parents, creatives, and leaders.
Through all her work, she invites people to slow down, ground their energy, and remember that creativity is not another demand — it’s a way of being.
